Fascinating Particle Physics - Writing a book on Particle Physics for a General Audience

We, a collaboration of seven scientists, have recently published a book on particle physics for a lay audience. The book is in German. I discuss how the project came about, the challenges we faced in writing, as well as the resulting product. As with building a house, the second time is better. Some of the lessons we learned went into the improved English edition for which we provided the translation ourselves. It is complete and will appear later this year.
